Just qualified for the New York City Marathon

[this is good]
Good Job in Qualifying for the marathon. I am very impressed with both your pace and the number of races you do.
Congrats on yet another PR? When will you run a race that isn't a personal best? ;)

Go Dathan! He's from the Grand Rapids area so I've heard a lot about him. Quite a special runner!
Good question, hopefully never! This was my 13th overall race since I quit smoking last Dec. 1. I have all my race bibs in my daily journal book, and all my times are right there for public view on the NYRR site on my blog, too. I like it because it matches with my overall belief in life of Constant and Never-Ending Improvement (CANI), since I'm a Tony Robbins disciple who listened to his CDs in my car every single day during a tough comeback following the tech bubble at the start of this decade. So CANI all the way, including running!
When I first saw this post I thought, "Whoa - I should warn this guy, he can get way more than 10k for his kidney." Ummm...yeah.
What are you offering?

Yay!!!!!

Congrats on your PR, and also your good time. I do find it funny that you ran to the medical tent for Oxygen! I've GOT to volunteer for oe of these events someday....

Congrats on the qualification for NYC. But....consider the OUtber Banks Marathon...November 5th I think,... You would be fresh off the MLB stuff and ready for a beach vacation....:)

If you run the Outer Banks Marathon, what happens if you suddenly start flying like Orville Wright? I mean there might be a gust of wind or something...that would be scary. :)

Uh...well....if I start flying, someone will "cut me down" for sure my speed is legendary lately, for the slow end of things,

But its fun....we can have a voxencounter...

I forgot to say, I saw Shrek on Opening Night (in Raleigh anyway, which was Thursday) and it was very amusing....though maybe not the best movie EVER, but stilll...:)

I love Gingy's voice.
You're kicking some major a*s, man! Keep up the great running and racing! Congrats on qualifying for NYC - you definitely earned it! That's a cool concept, knowing you have to work hard and persevere to earn your entry like that. It makes it that much more rewarding.
Thanks, that means a lot. I am sure it means a lot from a business sense to the New York Road Runners, too! :)

me too!!!!

Though I must admit, I adore SHrek's voice. Its one of the few brogues soken so clearly so I can get each word....

The princesses weren't too bad either. But what can I say, one of my favorite movies of all time is Disney's Mulan...

I loved when Snow White sang for all the animals -- and then went hard rock, leading into Fergie's rendition of Heart's "Barracuda". But Gingy is my favorite.

I liked that part too. Though I kept thinking of Pat Benetar.

Clearly showing my age here.

Any thoughts on the OBX?

Thanks for the heads-up on the OBX, btw. I am going to be tunnel-focused on NYC for Nov. 4, but just on the negative 350-billion-percent chance that I don't make the lottery for that (I am Mr. Positive!!!!!!!!!), I will keep the OBX in mind! Like I said, I would be worried that if I run near Kitty Hawk a gust of wind my make me actually airborne like Orville Wright because I am so fast. :) haha
